Privacy Policy
Planet · Last updated August 8, 2026
Planet is an AI-powered shared calendar, to-do, and list app. This policy explains what information Planet collects, why it is used, when it is shared, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, an opaque Sign in with Apple identifier, and authentication records. Planet also creates an anonymous account identifier if you use the app before signing in.
- Content you provide: groups, events, locations entered in events, attendees, to-dos, lists, comments, invitations, preferences, and reminder settings.
- AI input: text, dictated transcripts, on-device OCR text extracted from images, or shared text that you intentionally submit to turn into an event, to-do, or list item.
- Connected calendars: if you choose to connect Google Calendar or an iCal feed, Planet stores the connection details needed to show those events, including Google account email and authorization tokens or the feed URL.
- Feature usage and diagnostics: preferences, the last group you viewed, device push token, notification subscription state, request timing and status, request identifiers, and limited AI usage metadata such as model, input length, token count, confidence, and outcome. Planet uses this information for defaults, quotas, reliability analysis, security, and troubleshooting—not advertising or cross-app tracking.
On-device processing
Planet uses Apple's frameworks to recognize text in a photo and to convert speech into editable text. Planet does not upload the selected photo or raw microphone audio to its servers. Only OCR text or dictated text that you choose to submit is sent for AI extraction.
How we use information
We use this information to provide syncing and sharing, create and display calendar content, send requested reminders and group updates, process content you submit to the AI assistant, maintain connected calendars, authenticate accounts, personalize saved preferences and defaults, enforce usage limits, evaluate feature reliability, prevent abuse, and keep Planet reliable.
Sharing and service providers
Content in a shared Planet group is visible to the other members of that group. We otherwise share information only as needed to provide features you use:
- Apple: Sign in with Apple, push notifications, and speech recognition when you dictate.
- OpenRouter and its selected model provider: AI input you intentionally submit for extraction.
- Google: calendar account and event access only when you connect Google Calendar.
- Railway and infrastructure providers: application and database hosting.
- Email delivery providers: invitation or account-recovery email when those features are used.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use third-party advertising SDKs. We require service providers to process information only to deliver their services and to protect it at least as required by this policy and applicable law.
Retention and deletion
Account information and content are retained while your account is active or as needed to provide Planet. You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Account → Delete Account. This removes your profile and personal content from Planet's active systems. Shared groups may be transferred to another member so their content remains available; content attributable only to you is removed. Limited records may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or resolving disputes.
You can disconnect Google Calendar from Settings at any time, disable notifications in iOS Settings, stop granting camera, photo, microphone, or speech access through iOS Settings, and remove yourself from shared groups.
Security
Planet uses encrypted HTTPS connections, access controls, and authentication tokens to protect information. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
Children
Planet is a general-audience organization app and is not directed to children under 13. A parent or guardian should manage any information about a child.
Changes and contact
We may update this policy when Planet's features or data practices change. The date above will identify the latest version. For privacy questions, submit the Planet Support form.
